WKN bitte?!?!

Hoffentlich!!!!

mrcy konnte beim Ergebnis erneut positiv überraschen. Der Wert sollte nun auf das all time high von $70 zumaschieren, zumal man auch für das aktuelle Quartal gute Umsätze und Gewinne angekündigt hat.

Hier ein Kommentar von prudential:
Mercury reported FY01 second quarter EPS of $0.30, handily beating our estimates by $0.04, and $0.05 better than consensus. Earnings surprise mostly due to stronger than expected medical imaging business, more than making up for slower defense business growth.

Core businesses--defense electronics and medical imaging--continue to post double-digit YoY top-line growth, generating solid earnings, while the company bides its time with Agilevision JV and potential 3G wireless opportunity.

Hallo Bufett,

schade, das ich diesen Beitrag erst jetzt lese.

Der Wert sieht vom Chartbild hervorragend aus.
ATH lag bei 67,50 DM. Ich glaube, der Kurs kann noch bis ca. 50 E zurückkommen. Dann könnte man einsteigen.

Allerdings gibts in diesem Wert so gut wie keine Umsätze in Deutschland.
Kaufen kann man dann meist gut. Aber Verkaufen kann zu einem Problem werden.

Wie siehst du die Sache ?

Press Release
Mercury Computer Systems Reports 45% Growth in Revenues, 30% Rise in Net Income in Third Quarter
Record Quarterly Revenues of $47 Million and EPS of $0.34 Continue Company's Strong Financial Performance
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2001-- Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRCY - news), a leading provider of embedded real-time digital signal and image processing systems, today reported results for the third quarter and first nine months of fiscal year 2001, ended March 31, 2001.

Revenues for the third quarter were $47.0 million, a 45% increase over the $32.4 million in revenue for the third quarter of the prior fiscal year. Net income for the quarter was $7.9 million, a 30% increase over the $6.1 million in net income in the year-ago quarter, representing 41 consecutive quarters of profitable company performance. Earnings per common share (diluted) was $0.34, a 31% year-to-year growth over the EPS of $0.26 reported in the prior-year quarter.

Revenues for the nine months ended March 31, 2001 were $131.7 million, a 25% increase over the $105.6 million in revenue reported for the nine months ended March 31, 2000. Net income for the nine months was $22.0 million, representing 9% growth over the $20.2 million in net income reported for the first nine months of the prior fiscal year. Earnings per common share (diluted) for the nine months was $0.95, a 7% increase over the $0.89 EPS reported for the nine-month period ended March 31, 2000.

``We are pleased to report another very strong quarter of performance with growth in revenue, earnings and cash generation,'' said Jay Bertelli, president and CEO of Mercury Computer Systems. ``We saw year-to-year growth in all segments of our business, led by our defense electronics group, where revenues grew 55% year-over-year. Medical diagnostic imaging revenues grew 36% year-over-year, and our OEM solutions group revenues grew 17% compared to the previous year's quarter. We delivered record quarterly performance while continuing to make the aggressive investments necessary to position ourselves for strong future growth in new application markets.''

Third Quarter Highlights

In the defense electronics sector, revenues for the third quarter were $31.4 million representing 67% of the total revenues for the quarter. The third quarter was a very strong bookings quarter in our worldwide defense business. Overall Mercury achieved 15 new program wins, with the international defense team once again showing significant success accounting for five of those wins. If each of these new programs were to go to full deployment, they collectively represent a five-year potential in excess of $50 million in total sales.

Mercury's worldwide medical diagnostic imaging revenues for the quarter were $10.3 million, 22% of the total revenues for the quarter. This segment continues to grow above plan for the year as the company's medical OEMs experience better-than-forecasted shipments in essentially all modalities.

The OEM solutions business grew to $5.3 million representing 11% of the company's total revenue for the quarter. Growth in this segment has come primarily in semiconductor imaging applications, including lithography and wafer inspection and testing applications. The company continues to make progress in developing new business opportunities as the semiconductor industry migrates to .13 micron and smaller design rules. The new generation of systems designed for these tiny geometries requires tremendous image-processing capability for which Mercury's scalable, ultimate performance architecture is ideally suited.

In the wireless communications market, the business unit continues to make progress in positioning the company to capitalize on this tremendous future market potential. Development work has continued on the prototype communications computer being used to demonstrate Mercury's capabilities to potential customers. The company is focusing on understanding general industry trends as the adoption rate of 3G appears to be shifting out. This trend will have no impact on Mercury's fiscal 2002 revenue growth since the company had anticipated FY02 being a development year.

Business Outlook

In looking ahead to the rest of the year, Mercury's CFO, G. Mead Wyman, said, ``Fiscal 2001 remains on track to produce another year of record financial performance. We are intently aware of the continued economic slowdown reflected in the worldwide markets and the reality that our customers could see some unanticipated impact to their business in future quarters. While optimistic that we will achieve our plan for the year, it is only prudent we remain cautious in our outlook for the remaining quarter of 2001 and the next few quarters as we work our way through this challenging period of economic uncertainty.

``Our guidance for financial performance in the fourth quarter fiscal 2001 continues to be for revenues of approximately $49 million and EPS of approximately $0.36. The company's guidance for fiscal 2002 is to anticipate revenues to be in the range of $215 million to $230 million, and EPS to be in the range of $1.55 to $1.60. During the fourth quarter the company will be completing its annual planning process. We will provide more specific guidance for fiscal 2002 with our fourth-quarter 2001 earnings report,'' concluded Mr. Wyman.

Mercury Computer Systems Selected for Hughes Spaceway Global High-Speed Communications Satellite Network
Mercury's High-Performance Multicomputers Used to Test Satellite Network for Broadband Internet Access
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2001-- Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY - news), a leading provider of embedded real-time digital signal processing systems, announced today that Boeing Satellite Systems will use Mercury's RACE++(tm) systems in the testing of the Spaceway(tm) high-speed communications satellite network. Boeing is building the Spaceway system for Hughes Network Systems. Spaceway, due to be in service in 2003, is the world's first global broadband satellite network with the ability to provide high-speed wireless Internet access, transmitting and receiving data, voice, audio and multimedia via satellite. The current Boeing business is valued at $1.2 million to Mercury and additional orders are expected.

Spaceway will enable businesses and homes to have access to two-way desktop video conferencing, interactive distance learning and Internet services operating at speeds faster and less costly than those provided by current land-based systems. It will provide bandwidth-on-demand for customers using and paying for only the amount of bandwidth needed for a specific application, from e-mail to high-bandwidth, high-speed corporate networks.

``Spaceway will change the way the world communicates,'' said Jay Bertelli, president and CEO of Mercury Computer Systems. ``Spaceway will transmit and receive information hundreds of times faster than conventional telephone networks. Being selected by Boeing Satellite Systems, the manufacturer of the Spaceway system, validates the applicability of Mercury's systems to the growing range of communication applications. Using the world's most powerful digital signal processors to test the base station infrastructure will ensure that the Spaceway system will have the performance and bandwidth required to provide businesses and consumers with the connectivity to communicate directly via satellite without having to go through a retransmission service, or hub.''

Spaceway offers businesses and individuals around the world a wide range of communications services. Organizations can unite operations at multiple locations anywhere in the world by consolidating their remote LANS and WANS into a single high-speed network. Business and residential users can access the Internet at high speeds, making sending and downloading large multimedia files and applications faster than ever before. Physicians can use the satellite system to transmit high-resolution images such as X-rays, allowing specialists to interact with patients at distant locations.

Announced in March 1999 by Hughes Electronics Corporation, the $1.4 billion Spaceway program will provide affordable, high-bandwidth and high-speed communications for broadband and multimedia applications. The first system is scheduled to begin operation in North America in 2003. Once the geosynchronous orbit Spaceway system is operational, additional nongeosynchronous systems with similar capabilities will be developed in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia.

Additional information about the Spaceway network is available at: www.hns.com/spaceway/spaceway.htm. (http://www.hns.com/spaceway/spaceway.htm.)

Mercury Computer Systems First to Offer Conduction-Cooled Processing Systems with Switch Fabric Interconnect Technology
RACE++ Systems Place Massive Signal Processing Power in Harsh Environments
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 2001-- Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY - news), a leading provider of embedded real-time digital signal and image processing computer systems, today introduced RACE++(TM) Series conduction-cooled systems. Applications developed on Mercury's RACE++ Series air-cooled systems will run without modification on the new RACE++ Series conduction-cooled systems. The new systems, which incorporate PowerPC® 7410 ``G4'' processors with AltiVec(TM) technology, will provide digital signal and image processing for a variety of defense electronics platforms such as tactical fighter aircraft, smart torpedoes, helicopter-based infrared systems, airborne and ground mobile surveillance radars, and land-based tactical vehicles.

``We have repackaged the RACE++ architecture for conduction-cooled applications and are the only vendor offering conduction-cooled multiprocessing systems that incorporate switch fabric technology,'' said Vince Mancuso, vice president and general manager, Government Electronics Group, Mercury Computer Systems. ``The new conduction-cooled systems extend Mercury's existing commercial and rugged air-cooled product lines, creating a comprehensive AltiVec-based product line for uses ranging from benign laboratory environments to the harshest military deployments. The addition of conduction-cooled RACE++ Series systems solidifies Mercury's leadership as the preferred supplier of digital signal and image processing systems.''

As military forces increasingly rely on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) multiprocessing systems, the demand has grown for conduction-cooled products that can operate in harsh environments where convection (air) cooling is not possible. For example, conduction cooling is often the only solution available in battlefield or airborne systems, which are subject to widely varying temperatures and humidity, dirt and dust, and extreme vibration and shock. Designers of radars, reconnaissance cameras, and radio receivers now have the ability to locate high-performance signal processing solutions alongside system sensors in the corrosive atmospheres and harsh environments where there is little or no air flow.

``We are leveraging our experience with the PowerPC `G4' and AltiVec technology to satisfy a need not filled by any other current off-the-shelf product line,'' added Mr. Mancuso. ``Previously, system designers who were faced with the most severe environments had to produce one-of-a-kind solutions that required a large investment. These products will position Mercury in additional defense applications and will create a new paradigm in applying state-of-the-art digital signal and image processing to demanding environments.''

The key to scalable computing power in these new conduction-cooled systems is the RACE++ switch fabric interconnect. The RACE++ fabric enables multiple high-speed data transfers simultaneously by providing multiple pathways between network nodes. Initial system configurations can scale from 6 GFLOPS and 1 GB/second to more than 85 GFLOPS and 6 GB/second.

Mercury's conduction-cooled systems are available for immediate order. Production deliveries begin in December 2001.

Mercury Computer Systems Selected by Recon/Optical, Inc. for Digital Reconnaissance Camera
Mercury's Conduction-Cooled System Enables Airborne Digital Reconnaissance in Extreme Environments
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 2001-- Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY - news), a leading provider of embedded real-time digital signal and image processing computer systems, announced today that Recon/Optical, Inc. (ROI) has selected Mercury's RACE++(TM) conduction-cooled multicomputers for use in its new CA-279 dual spectral band aerial reconnaissance camera. The RACE++ multicomputer will perform image processing on the sensor platform, enabling near real-time reconnaissance.

``The CA-279 digital camera has the ability to produce both infrared and visible spectrum images simultaneously, providing military commanders and other key decision makers with near real-time intelligence to analyze battlefields and other key sites,'' said ROI's Steve Wyatt, CA-279 Program Manager. ``Mercury's conduction-cooled system enables the camera to be deployed in the extremely harsh environments often encountered during reconnaissance missions.''

Incorporating the RACE++ architecture, Mercury's rugged conduction-cooled systems were designed for demanding environments similar to those in which the CA-279 camera will be used, such as battlefield conditions and high altitudes where extreme temperatures, humidity, dirt and dust can degrade reconnaissance imagery. Built to Level 3 ruggedization specifications, the systems will endure the increased vibration and lower air pressure that result from operating in these extreme environments. Utilizing Mercury's systems, the camera will process more frames per minute and provide higher quality images than previously possible from high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft, while occupying less space.

``Recon/Optical is a leader in the aerial reconnaissance industry and consistently creates cutting-edge imaging solutions, such as the new CA-279 dual band camera, for use in advanced military and commercial applications,'' said Vince Mancuso, vice president and general manager of Mercury's Government Electronics Group. ``The selection of Mercury for the CA-279 camera is further evidence of our ability to lead in digital image processing, and we look forward to continuing a successful, ongoing relationship with Recon/Optical.''

Mercury Computer Systems Selected by Raytheon for STANDARD Missile-3 LEAP Program
Next-Generation SM-3 Design to Intercept Incoming Theater Ballistic Missiles Outside the Earth's Atmosphere
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2001-- Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY - news) announced today that Raytheon Company's Missile Systems business unit has selected Mercury's commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) RACE Series(tm) multicomputer systems for testing the STANDARD Missile-3 (SM-3) Lightweight Exo-Atmospheric Projectile (LEAP) Kinetic Warhead.

The SM-3 is designed solely for sea-based theater ballistic missile defense (TBMD), and the kinetic warhead is designed to intercept an incoming theater ballistic missile threat outside the Earth's atmosphere. The upper portion of the SM-3 missile includes a third-stage rocket motor, a new GPS-based guidance section, and a kinetic kill warhead.

``Our previous success with Mercury's systems in the Exo-Atmospheric Kill Vehicle program, for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization and the National Missile Defense program, aided in our decision to use their products for LEAP,'' said Michael Leal, SM-3 KW program director at Raytheon's Missile Systems business unit in Tucson, Arizona. ``Mercury's advanced digital signal processing systems feature a scalable architecture that is critical for software code reuse. This design leverages current software capability and common computer architectures to support advanced discrimination algorithms that create an appropriate image scene during simulated flight tests.''

The United States is continuing an aggressive theater ballistic missile defense program, led by the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), and it has pursued several major defense acquisition programs.

The U.S. Navy is developing the SM-3 as part of the Navy Theater Wide (NTW) system. The NTW system builds upon the BMDO investment in LEAP technology, the Navy's STANDARD Missile and existing infrastructure, and will deploy on AEGIS ships. By leveraging its existing investment in the AEGIS-equipped ships deployed around the world, the AEGIS combat system, the vertical launching system, and the STANDARD Missile, the Navy will be able to provide a forward deployed theater ballistic missile defense capability. These NTW capabilities complement the AEGIS program's Area Wide TBMD capability, including the AN/SPY-1 radar's Linear Search/Track Processor enhancement that is supported by Mercury's RACE Series multicomputer systems (see Mercury press release April 10, 2000).

``The state-of-the-art SM-3 is intended to provide U.S. and allied forces protection from rogue theater ballistic missiles and is designed to reduce the threat posed by chemical, biological or nuclear weapons of mass destruction by providing a wide defended area,'' said Vince Mancuso, vice president and general manager of Mercury's Government Electronics Group. ``The combination of Raytheon's software with Mercury's systems provides a realistic testing environment for LEAP, and the design provides for sensing and signal processing upgrades needed to counter an advancing threat.''

Additional information about the LEAP program is available at www.raytheon.com/es/esproducts/dssleap/dssleap.htm (http://www.raytheon.com/es/esproducts/dssleap/dssleap.htm) and at www.global-defence.com/pages/ballist.html. (http://www.global-defence.com/pages/ballist.html.)

A high-resolution photograph of the SM-3 is available on Mercury's web site at www.mc.com/press_room/image_library/ (http://www.mc.com/press_room/image_library/) image_detail.cfm?id=42&category=Applications
